Recent updates, says that some of the Google employees have been returning voluntarily at the work place from last month. So, CEO Sunder Pichai has decided to adopt a new hybrid work week. In an expansion of a pilot that started in December, most of the employees are working approximately three days out of office. And rest two days in the place wherever they do the best. How this spilt will work in practice was totally up to workers product focus and the team they were part of.
Google is now going to offer more opportunities to the employees so that they can easily move around. By the mid of June, a new plan will be introduced in which workers will be able to work from a different office and this will be called the new hybrid workplace plan. In addition, the employees will have an opportunity to work around 4 weeks away from their assigned office. Google is also making plans for developing remote roles and even teams entirely for the people that aren’t in one place. The company is going to allow the employees to apply for remote work within their product area. Therefore, when it comes to remote working the company is going to consider the need of employees team.
Pichai says whether the employee is going to choose a transfer or remote work, the compensations will be properly adjust according to the locations. According to the above changes, about 60% of workforce will be able to work onsite every week. Whereas twenty percent are going to work from home. Ergo, the leftover 20% employees are going to end up in the new offices.
