State Bank of India conducts exams to recruit junior assistants (customer care and sales) and other posts for different branches. SBI is the only Forune500 Indian bank with a tradition of over two hundred years. Basic Salary

Usually, notification about SBI clerk junior assistant (customer care and sales) is given in the month of August along with the exam date, pattern, and online application link. The in-hand salary at the initial stage ranges from twenty-six thousand to twenty-nine thousand, depending on the location of the posting. The basic salary for the post is INR 17,900 with an increment of INR 1,000 for three years, and the ceiling level is INR 47,920. The DA depends upon the consumer price index and HA on the location of the job.

The Allowances 

Every SBI employee enjoys other perks other than a basic salary. The DA is directly proportional to inflation. If the consumer price index increases, DA enhances, and vice versa. Other allowances are transport, house rent, city, special, medical, newspaper and furniture. The allowances vary according to the job location of the employee. Gender diversity is another prominent feature of SBI; women constitute around 20% of the total employment. 2 phase exam

The exam is held in two phases, prelim and main in online mode, and a test of a specific local language opted by the candidate. The prelim exam consists of English language, thirty questions with thirty marks, numeric ability comes with thirty-five questions and thirty –five marks, reasoning with same as numerical paper. The total number of questions is a hundred with full marks of hundred duration is one hour. The paper is objective. Wrong answers attract a negative marking of 1/4th.

Around ten times of candidates for vacancies are shortlisted for the main exam. Phase two mains consists of four papers; English language, quantitative aptitude, reasoning ability and general/financial/banking awareness. The English language comes with forty questions with a total mark of forty. Other papers consist of fifty questions each. The total number of questions is one hundred ninety with a total mark of two hundred, and the duration is two hours forty minutes.

The Pattern

In the SBI clerk mains exam, each paper has a specific duration and objective type except the English language. The question papers are bilingual English/ Hindi. For a wrong answer, 1/4th mark will be deducted. For eligibility, you need to score a minimum threshold. A 5% relaxation is applicable to SC/ST/OBC/PWD/XS candidates. To qualify, you need to score the minimum aggregate percentage prescribed. The merit list is published state and merit-wise.
