Whatsapp to stop working, if you don’t agree to the new privacy policy

Whatsapp claims, that the controversial privacy policy that was to come into effect this weekend, is not going to delete or deactivate accounts of any of the individuals. Bleeping Computer tells this is the most recent update, anyone who is not sharing their Whatsapp information with Facebook will not lose their account functionality on May 15th, 2021. Instead, the Whatsapp company is having plans to limit down the functionality holdouts until they accept the new privacy policy.

If this applies to you, then you are having a good chance to continue Whatsapp as it is for several weeks. However, Whatsapp will keep sending you notifications about the updated privacy policy and at some time you will have to accept it. During this updated privacy notification, you are going to encounter limited functionality on Whatsapp until you accept the policy. Let’s talk further about the policy.

The first thing that you are going to lose is the chat list. You won’t be able to message and call anyone. Only if the other person contacted you first. And you tap on the notifications then only you are going to see the chat list. After losing this function, the application will stop sending messages and calls to your phone altogether. As soon as the process starts remember that holdouts will be different for everyone.

Once you reach the second stage, then your options will be more limited. You can export, import, download reports from your account. You can even delete your account if you do not agree with the privacy policy, but Whatsapp will warn you that there is something you cannot reverse. However, this is not much but remember that Whatsapp will automatically delete the account after 120 days of inactivity.
